• Completed & Reviewed by Neil Collins

Avoid the Noid is a peculiar little game that I had never heard of. It's a game that was produced to promote Domino's pizza, and has you playing the part of a pizza delivery boy. Your aim is to make your way up through the floors of an office block, collecting keys and using lifts to reach the penthouse suite. The enemies in this game are called Noids - they are little red-suited characters that attack you at any opportunity, so you will need to use your skills of evasion to progress up through the floors. It's quite an original game with nice graphics, but the game play doesn't change much and the sound is annoying.

The final level.

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used an infinite lives and time cheat.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you reach the roof and have collected the correct keys you can enter the penthouse suite. At the end of the game you see a well drawn picture of a guy at his desk with the delivery boy in front of him holding a pizza. The guy says that you are now good enough to be a domino's pizza delivery boy. You made it!

COMMENTS:

  • Neil: It's a short game with a fairly good end. The end picture is very well drawn. A fair ending to this game. 5/10.

  • Vinny: The name of this game rings a bell for some reason, but I've never seen this game before.

As for the ending... it's just a nice picture and that's it! 4/10 from me.
  • Andrew Fisher: I've heard of this game on the NES but never knew there was a C64 version. The picture at the end is quite good.

  • Gaz Spence: I came across this game while going through the GB collection a few years ago. Not badly put together but terribly boring. The ending picture is well composed so came as some surprise and is probably worth a 5 rating.

  • Andy Vaisey: I've heard of the 'Noid' character and have seen heard/seen games on other platforms, but this C64 version is news to me. At least you get an image for an ending, but not much else.

FINAL SAY: Nice ending. I'm quite happy with this one.

G.E. RATING: 4.5 / 10
