Before we start, I need to point out that Arac and
Spiderbot are one of the same - the only difference is
the name: Spiderbot was released for the US market, and
Arac for the UK.
This game was the bane of
my life for a while as I spent what seemed an age trying
to create some cheats and ultimately find the ending
within the code. I did create a few cool little cheats,
but nothing big enough to allow me, or the C64endings
Team, to get to the end.
Fortunately, Gaz Spence spotted a note on the Lemon 64 web site from a
user called 'zharicant' who claimed that he had
completed Spiderboy (Arac). After contacting 'zharicant'
(AKA Joel Smith) via a private message, we were sent a
video of the ending along with a .VSF snapshot. Result!
Thanks to Joel Smith, we
now present you with the ending to Arac (AKA Spiderbot)...

The final game
screen.

Need to cut through
the soil to progress.

"CHOMP, CHOMP..."

Knock out the
switches.

Whoooosh!

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I'm not too sure how Joel complete it, but it looks like
it was done without cheating!
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once all three switches on the reactor are knocked out,
the word "SPIDERBOT" flies around the screen,
accompanied by a strange sound effect. I presume the
ARAC version has the word "ARAC" flying around instead.
The game then goes back to the title screen and shows
that the reactor is off.
