> THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN by Paragon Software

Completed and Reviewed by Vinny Mainolfi

I have always been a massive Spider-man fan and so it was inevitable that I was going to purchase this game on the day of its release. Needless to say that I wasted my money and time on this one as it was infuriatingly difficult to play - some would say it is totally unplayable! Still, there's always the ending to look forward to ...

Mysterio is on the run!

Surely Spider-man isn't going to run him over?

Ouch! The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED? To be totally honest, I don't know how this game was completed; I just found it on my PC along with a list of other game endings that I didn't know I had.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: A little strange this one: Spidey is flying around on a radiator and is heading for Mysterio. He finishes him off with a fatal blow (oo-er, missus), and then the end message reads, "WELL DONE!! GAME OVER".

  • Vinny: What an absolute pile of sheet!
  • Andrew Fisher: I love the tiny Spider-Man sprite, he's so agile and web slinging is fun. It's a shame then that the game becomes boring and clambering over the scenery too repetitive.

    A very odd ending indeed.
  • Andy Vaisey: Fantastic main sprite and neat graphic of Spiderman on the side, meaning the programmers didn't have to bother with any MSB. Lazy...

Boring game overall, with a slightly strange way to 'end'.
  • Brendan Phoenix: Agree with the sprite comments above, really interesting approach to a tie-in which does not come off somehow, which is a shame.

FINAL SAY: [the webmaster is speechless!]
