I was never really a fan of the Alien films and I
only really watched the first instalment to see John
Hurt's stomach explode (",). My lack of fondness for
Alien also mean that I avoided the games and never
ventured into the darkest realms of Activision's attempt
to bring the big screen onto our home computers.
I only really stumbled upon this game whilst I was
whizzing through Gamebase 64 and my curiosity took hold
of my senses and led me towards this game and
ultimately, the ending ...

The doors open ...

... and reveal the
alien's executioner.

"Run, you dirty rat!"

FLIPPIN EK! What's
going on here?!

Ah ... an explanation
...

"Sleep tight" - The
End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
As usual, I used a cracked version of the game, which
opened up no-end of cheats for me (",).
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The final level sees the bay doors opening and our
heroin ready for the final battle.
The alien appears, and in a total frenzy, fights its
final battle.
We are then treated to a scene that shows the team in
pieces - literally! GORY OR WHAT?! For all you squeamish
game freaks out there, I suggest you avert your eyes!
A flick of the screen, and a storyline explanation as to
what the ending is displayed (see above screen for FULL
details).
Finally, it's off to bed for the survivors ... erm ... I
think! Or are they in some kind of futuristic coffins?
This may be a good time for me to watch the film!
COMMENTS: I was quite surprised with this ending
and was expecting something a little less visual. The
hi-res screens really add to the ending's atmosphere and
creates a good sense of completion. The only down side
is the crappy music, which can be forgiven due to the
time (1986) when the game was written and released
(before anyone had a REAL sense of the C64's SID chip).
FINAL SAY:
All in all, a good ending worth seeing.
