Now here's an ending that sat in the OFFLINE ARCHIVE
for around 5 years, and when I got to it, then ending
file was corrupted! No sweat - I just grabbed a cracked
version of the game that housed a trainer, and grabbed
the ending that way :)
I remember the UK version
of After Burner being a load of cack, and the ending
wasn't much cop either! So it's fortunate that someone
actually tried to produce a better version, which is
what the 'USA' version achieved - almost.
As for the ending... is it
worth a look?

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
As I mentioned about, I just used a trainer produced by
REMEMBER that allowed me to jump straight to the end
sequence.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once the final level is complete, you see a picture of
the After Burner Pilot sitting in his craft and giving
the 'thumbs up' and the words: "MISSION COMPLETE"
being displayed. This is accompanied by the title
screen's digitized speech that says: "F-F-F-F-FIRE,
FIRE", which is followed by a digitized explosion and
then the title screen music. The ending then closes with
the standard 'GAME OVER' screen.
