Acid Runner is a Lode Runner clone with very little difference to the original game...

Your aim is to collect all the items on the level, by running around as quickly as possible whilst being chased by the enemy. It's very simple, and can be fun to play for a while, but it soon gets boring as there's not much to do. So does this version have anything at the end of it?

The final level begins...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAA..."

A quick tap of the RUN/STOP key on a cracked version of the game...

...The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: We both used a cracked version of the game and used RUN/STOP to skip through the levels. Level 30 is the final level.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The final level has invisible platforms. If you manage to be beat it, the word 'CRAZY!!!' appears on the screen. The game then restarts.

COMMENTS:

  • Neil: What a rubbish ending. Forget about this one. It's awful. 1/10.
  • Vinny: I'd never heard of this game before Neil sent in the ending. It's been on my system for YEARS, but I have never stumbled on it. It's a fab game that has been well executed. Cool little graphics and great SID tunes all wrapped up in a clean bit of game play. I like it :-)

But then we get the game ending... which is a totally different kettle of fish! What on earth were the programmers thinking! That great long journey through 30 levels and all you get as a reward is the word "CRAZY!!!". Am I missing something here? Yeah - a bloody game ending! 0.5/10 from me!

  • Brendan Phoenix: Must have been on acid to think the word 'Crazy' would pass as a game ending.

  • Andrew Fisher: Oh my, 30 levels for that? Running out of ways to describe such bad endings...

  • Gaz Spence: A Lode Runner clone and not too bad if you're a fan of that game and need your fix of more levels. Quite often these obscure Polish games have cool endings but this one is worse than a bad acid trip.

  • Andy Vaisey: Cachu.

FINAL SAY: More 'crap' than 'crazy!!!'

G.E. RATING: 1 / 10
